Nusa Penida East — Diamond Cliffs & Pristine Shores

10 Hours

Overview

The east side of Nusa Penida is a different landscape entirely — fewer crowds, more remote beaches, and jaw-dropping viewpoints that rival anywhere in Southeast Asia. Diamond Beach, with its white sand flanked by jagged limestone pinnacles, is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Indonesia. Atuh Beach and the Thousand Islands Viewpoint complete a trio of scenery so dramatic it barely feels real. If you’ve already done the west side — or simply want a quieter, more adventurous experience — East Nusa Penida is your answer.

FAQs

How is East different from West Nusa Penida?

The west side is more famous and more visited (Kelingking, Broken Beach). The east side is less crowded and arguably more beautiful — Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach are more secluded. We recommend doing both if you have two days on the island.

Is Diamond Beach accessible?

Yes — a well-constructed staircase (approximately 200 steps) descends to the beach. It is steep but manageable for most fitness levels. Wear sturdy footwear.

Is the Peguyangan Waterfall difficult?

It is very demanding — approximately 800 steps down a clifftop staircase along the ocean. Only recommended for fit travelers with good footwear. The blue temple at the bottom and the waterfall view are extraordinary, but the descent and ascent are strenuous.

Can I combine East and West Nusa Penida in one day?

It is physically possible but very rushed and tiring. We recommend dedicating a full day to each side, or staying overnight on the island. Ask us about our 2-day Nusa Penida package.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the trip. No refund for cancellations within 24 hours
